My name is Anish and for years I worked in the fashion industry for a high-end label. As time went on, I became increasingly disturbed by the trends in my industry, as we produced stunning designs for an unrealistic body image. What about real women with curves? In 2017 I decided I wanted to create a brand focused on making impeccably stylish, beautifully designed dresses for curvy women.
I spent the year learning about curve size technical design and construction and launched Currently as a plus size clothing brand. A year later I took a life-changing trip to the Great Barrier Reef and made the brand eco-conscious and size inclusive. We are a small business, but we are one of the few brands producing sustainable clothing with an extended size range.
The fashion industry has labeled most women in this country as plus size, yet this is a generation of body diversity. We are going beyond the traditional idea of luxury fashion and challenging societal norms that have held women back for far too long. Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors.
At Currently our team is committed to designing dresses that represent the diversity of human body shapes. The customer is at the heart of our unique business model. We make gorgeous dresses using the finest fabrics and we produce a few styles at a time in limited quantities to maintain a high-quality product. Each style is crafted with a huge emphasis on style, quality, and fit.
